Functional Description |
Military Sealift Command Atlantic, or MSCLANT, exercises tactical control, and administrative control for antiterrorism/force protection and emergent contingencies, over Military Sealift Command afloat forces that provide ocean transportation of equipment, fuel, supplies and ammunition in the eastern U.S. Northern Command (Western Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico) and U.S. Southern Command areas of responsibility; provides operational logistics support to U.S. Fleet Forces Command; and supports MSC in providing economical sea transportation in eastern NORTHCOM and SOUTHCOM AORs. |
